| Description |

This large-scale beach renourishment project involved seven miles of coastline restoration on Panama City Beach. Approximately 1,300,000 cubic yards of sand were dredged from a borrow area located about 3.5 miles offshore and then pumped onto the Panama City beachfront. At project completion in December 2011, the coastline had been extended by about 100 feet, providing added protection to the beach, local community and infrastructure. Dredging operations were performed by the trailing suction hopper dredge Liberty Island. |
