ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This project required constructing a 112-meter-wide access channel and a 200-m x 200-m turning basin for the purpose of transporting supplies to COMPERJ’s new oil refinery site in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The access channel will connect the Bay of Guanabara to a remote access road. Dredging and channeling work consisted of removing 917,000 cubic yards of material to construct the channel and basin to a depth of -5 meters with a 0.3-meter overdepth.
