ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The project was located in the Barataria Basin, between Pass Chaland and Grand Bayou Pass in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. The Scope of the Project:

  • Preventing the breaching of the Bay Joe Wise shoreline by increasing barrier shoreline width.
  • Increasing back-barrier, emergent marsh area by some 220 acres to maintain the barrier shoreline.
  • Creating emergent marsh suitable for tidal aquatic habitats.
