Engineer - Gulf Coast

A Watch Engineer assigned to work on a Hydraulic Suction Dredge is responsible for all of the mechanical and electrical equipment, motors, pumps and engines onboard the vessel.  He/She often works alongside the Chief Engineer on a project when repairs are needed.  He/she performs many routine tasks such as hooking up hoses, cleaning up, and assisting with fuel transfer operations. He/she will assist the Chief Engineer and other crew members when conducting repairs or performing routine maintenance.  He/she makes periodic checks and visually inspects equipment such as: engines, motors, pumps, batteries, gauges and valves. He/she will maintain logs regarding the overall performance of the dredge’s equipment by monitoring various computer devices, meters, gauges and valves. May lift, carry, pull or push miscellaneous equipment, supplies and parts weighing up to 75 lbs.

This position is located in the Gulf Coast.


  • Commitment to work safety and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to operate generating engines and associated dredge equipment.  Capable of learning engineering system associated with dredge equipment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English Language.
  • Complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screen.
  • Transportation to and from jobsite.
